A question I should probably direct @irishrail but they take an age to reply.

Does anyone know if it's possible to buy a ticket for the second half of a leg of a journey?

I have an annual travelcard that lets me get as far out of Dublin as Balbriggan, but I want to go to Drogheda, any way to just pay for Balbriggan>Drog without getting off the train there, buying a ticket and waiting for the next train? It's fine coming back the other way as you can just buy Drog>Balbriggan...

    Appreciate the help.

Has to be done either in Balbriggan or at a staffed station

The train you travel on MUST stop in Balbriggan, so are not allowed use the Enterprise service unless you have a Dublin Drogheda or beyond ticket

Excellent guys thanks, so I can buy a Balbriggan>Drog ticket from any station with a guy in the hut and then I'm fine to use the slow train but not the Belfast one. Appreciate it!

    Yup

And don't take no for an answer, any staffed station can issue a ticket for any journey

Is there a stipulation or something that you still have to tag on and off even with the annual point to point card? Or would the extended ticket cover that?
