Velux Window at front of house

I live in a mature estate in Dublin but my house thankfully is not overlook at the front as I have a very large green to the front of my property.

Is it possible to fit a large velux to front facing roof of my house?

What planning permission would be required?

    (Full) planning permission required.

Thanks is it generally an issue to put a front facing velux in from a planning point of view?

If nobody else has done it, and, depending on the nature of the estate, the Council may not want to set a precedent for granting permission for roof windows to the front.

So even if you do apply for planning permission, no guarantee that planning permission would be granted.
