Duty Free when travelling through various EU countries

Just trying to work out where and when (if at all) I can buy Duty Free for my upcoming trip. I've bought flights from London to Seattle via Cologne in a couple of weeks. The flight is leaving London 8am so I'm going from Dublin the night before which I booked separately myself.

I presume I can't buy Duty Free in Dublin because as far as they're concerned I'm only going to London, but on the outward journey I can purchase Duty Free in either London or Colongne (there's a 2 hour wait in Cologne)?

Is the full journey on a single ticket ?

If so then you can buy in Dublin.

Make sure to get any duty free alcohol or liquids put inside a sealed bag for transfer if you were to buy it in London as you might most likely need to clear security again in Cologne and Duty Free liquids need to be in that sealed bag for transfer or else it would fall foul of the 100mls liquid rule and get confiscated.
