Changing from business to economy

I want to book transatlantic flights over to the States and there are good deals on business at the moment. If something happened that I needed to change my flight to an earlier date, I understand that I'd only be charged the fare difference on that date with no change fee. If there were no seats available in Business class when I wanted to fly or if the fare difference was extortionate, could I change my fare to an economy fare instead? Tried contacting Aer lingus but no reply?

If you can't find the answer in the T&Cs then call them.

Usually you can change the business restricted fare for the fee on Aer Lingus,I think that fee is €350 or so
A fare difference is possible too if they've gone up,it all depends on how soon to departure you change usually
You'd be unfortunate to not have a seat available on the day you're changing too especially if you're changing well in advance

Best advice is be certain of your dates when you book
No point giving an airline more money if you don't have too
The fares are semi changeable but not refundable
You'll quite possibly be allowed downgrade on changing online but do not expect a refund on those fares
