Odd light in sky over Celbridge at 9:00pm headed west-north west.
    Very bright.
Like plane landing light, but heading in opposite direction.
    Anyone any ideas?

Careful. The light doesn't know you're onto it yet. Let's keep it that way.
    Surprise remains your best weapon.

Was not any plane i know of.
    And i know my aircraft,
    Have flown a few myself.
Also, flight path had no visible curvature to it.
Straight as a diie until out of sight behind a cloud bank.

Probably a weather balloon or one of the Perseids, it being meteor shower time.

    Deffinitely neither.
Was a brilliant Blue white, was visible in continuous trajectory for perhaps a minute- minute and a half.

    Flaring satellite?

Unfortunately it took perhaps a minute-minute and a half to traverse the sky.
Have seen Iridium flares before, not like this thing.

I think I seen this just now in the Midlands.
Really bright red and white lights and it looked like it was pulsating.
Have to say it looked really cool.
Got a pic and a video but on phone so they are pretty ****e.

Redriddick, What we saw was just a single blue-white light,
ambient light was still quite bright as it happened at 9:00pm
