can anyone recommend one for college

    I'm starting a course next month in social studies. I'm gonna need a laptop for research/assignments etc can anybody recommend one that's good and reliable that doesn't cost the earth. Thank you I'm pretty clueless about what to get I just know im gonna need one.

    What's your budget? 500? 700? 1000? Not costing the earth doesn't say too much and what you can get for each price point is very different.
