I think this one deserves it own thread. Most impressed with the station to be honest, it's very straight to the point and what it's doing it's doing very well. Displaying all Trax names, Twitter to go back on it if you want to find out what played.

It's doing some of the things I would do if I had a station on the go, letting listeners have a role in the station with 'guest mixes' is one.

What are the plans for this station? Is this the core product or can we expect more? If anyone knows.

Either way, it's filled a gap not just musically but as an anorak, I like to watch stations and this to me is something to watch.

Best of luck guys, hopefully we see/hear more ;)

Again general this is a general thread so feel free to ask or say what you want!

For some reason. it cannot be picked up in Ballinteer, Dundrum, Goatstown or Stillorgan and it can only be picked up sporadically around Nutgrove. But
as you head into Rathfarnham it can be picked up.

Always strong enough signal in West Dublin area. Not really my type of music but from what I heard it sounds like a professional enough set-up.

This isn't a negative post! But is there a reason why Trax doesn't seem do any of the main old school stuff? I could be wrong but I have never heard any of the tracks that would be main stream like, 'Things can only get better - D Ream, Missing, Believe, Baby D, Grace, Bobby Brown. 4 Strings'.

It's just going over my own playlists which would be from the VA CD's they appear a lot as 'old school', but yet don't seem to appear on Trax, but yet you get really really good rare stuff (some stuff by the same artists), is there a reason for this. Is it because it's mainstream and due to the success of 90's are stations now afraid to go there?

i wouldn't think stations are afraid to go there. it's not as if the moaners about 90s who will never be able to be as good, would play most of that stuff anyway so it shouldn't be a problem playing it.
most likely the station just wants to play the more underground stuff. actually remixes of most of the tracks you mention are on their playlist i've heard them from time to time.

I'm very highly educated. I know words, i have the best words, nobody has better words then me.

You raise a good point. Yes, of course there is a demand for the more mainstream dance music from the 90s - we appreciate that. We have chosen to largely stay away from that and focus on what many might refer to as underground dance music.

Mainstream dance music is played by the other operators and even Jenny Greene on 2FM does a fantastic show on Saturday evenings.

So, we play what the others don't. We've a large playlist of tunes on the station, and of course it is dotted with some of the more commercial tunes (or remixes of them) - so you'll hear them on occasion, but they won't be a feature.

    Thanks for the feedback.

Thank you for the kind words and support!

Not forgetting we also display the track names on RDS text. Would you believe that the #1 type of message we still get is listeners asking for the names of tunes we played earlier in the day. We are of course happy to help them out.
