What change in prescription justify new lenses

    I am shortsighted. Does anyone know whats the usual change that this should be done i.e would it be .5 or more?

    It depends on the person. Being shortsighted isn't a disease to be treated - it depends on your lifestyle, your personality, your work, etc.

    I like to have absolutely sharp, perfect vision all the time, so I would change specs even at 0.25 (or less) if I felt it kept my vision sharp.

    If your current specs let you see comfortably and sharply and allow you to do your daily activities then they are fine. If you drive, be mindful that there are minimum criteria for that too.

    The minimum criteria for driving is actually pretty low. I got laser eye surgery in December (the longer healing one) and after they took out the lenses I was given the all clear to drive and my vision was still pretty blurry!

    A year or more ago my eyes had changed slightly (0.25) and my guy told me its not worth changing them for that - its not a huge difference in vision (when i ran out of contacts i often wore weaker ones while waiting for my next order!) for 0.25 but anything greater than that I probably would upgrade them!
