New scam via text asking for an F11 form to be filled in to get a refund of 900 odd euro.

How would revenue have your number?

There could have been thousands of texts sent to random numbers beginning 087 086 085 083 etc...they only need a few to hit the right (gullible and unsuspecting) people...

Anyhow, it doesn't really matter how they arrived, important thing is to make people aware that it's an attempt at fraud and to be careful.

    Thanks, OP.

So is the rip off the cost of sending those scam texts?

the rip-off is someone sending a text hoping to rip you off - far better to be aware before an incident than trying to close the doors after the horse has bolted.

The OP will be of use to some people

    Agreed.
Just in case anyone has a doubt Revenue just don't work this way. Ignore anything that doesn't come through the usual channels.

The danger of that scam is, that many people grew up in Digital Age, so text is actually the usual channel for them.

Revenue don't text, how simple is that to comprehend? They send letters ;)

I got a similiar call from a 00674 number (Nauru) last week.
I didn't answer or call back.
    Probably the same scam.
