Is it true that you are planning a new scheme designed to reimburse customers who are left out of pocket repairing/replacing appliances damaged by coming in contact with the water you supply?

Anything in the pipeline, pun intended?

    Hi,

    Thanks for your query.

Irish Water do not have funding to support such an initiative; any change to this would have to be determined by the Commission for Energy Regulation (CER). As hard water is not harmful to health, it is not considered a priority at this time.

Due to the challenges facing our national water services, Irish Water's focus for the foreseeable future will be on the provision of clean drinking water, the reduction of water leaks and supply depletion, and the disposal of wastewater in a manner that protects the environment. You can find out more about Irish Water's plans and projects here.

We hope this information will be helpful. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

    Kind Regards,
    Siobhan
