Hi folks, a little help/advise please.
I want to lay a laminate floor over a concrete floor.
The room is about 18x12 feet with just a fire place and two doors in the way.
Q: Is this a job for a professional or can I do it myself. I'm fairly handy but have very basic tools....no electric stuff at all.
I've been told this could cost 300/400 euro to do.
    Any advice plesae
    Thanks.

    Very straightfwd to do.
watch a few youtubers and start off correctly and easy peasy.
I did a couple last year with no experience. Glad i have pretty good saw though

Its very easy. Im doing my whole house at the moment and have never done it before. Two rooms complete.

How flat is your existing floor? If there are big dips in the concrete then you may need to look into leveling this. Depending on the dips you can just use a double layer of underlay or if its very big some more concrete.

You dont need any electric tools, a good wood saw will do. I was using my jig saw for one of the rooms but switched the handsaw for the second room due to working into the late evenings and trying not to piss off the neighbours. A good sharp wood saw cuts through laminate very quickly.

    Measure twice and cut once.

You have 24 square yards, should cost no more than €10 per yard to get someone to install it.
If your not confident to do it yourself.

But if it's just a room not running into hallways etc
You should easily manage it, if your anyway handy.

the satisfaction from doing it yourself if youre anyway handy, let alone the money saved, is well worth the effort.
