Hi, I wonder if anyone can help. I purchased a Pokemon 2ds for my son on eBay. Buy it now auction, with p&p I paid a total of 81 stg. The seller packaged it really badly, basically in a padded envelope, it was boxed but no additional padding in the box etc. It arrived damaged. The back is broken of it.I contacted seller, respectful message letting him know it was damaged, next steps etc. He immediately called me every sort of deceitful thing under the sun. After numberous hurtful message I asked ebay to pursue a return. The seller contacted me two days ago, advising me ebay have instructed him to refund upon return of the item.
I'm wondering as I used addresspal to get the item over here from uk - will this go against me, he is being a right jerk about things and says he will do his upmost not to refund me. He has also given me his address now but won't give me his name, despite numerous requests. Do I have to wait until ebay will step in again to request them to get his name. Item has to be sent re tracked post, which I don't mind paying for. But to be 100% tracked I'll need his name.
I'm afraid after all this I'll still lose out as I used address pal and he'll say that item was for UK shipping only?? Anyone ever come across this before. Don't want to spend to post it and then loos more money on that was well as ds?
Apologies for long message, this guy really has me rattled with the name calling, accusations etc. I bought in good faith, he has good feedback, paid slightly over the odds for console and two games, based on his feedback. Just his packaging was absolutely moronic. Thanks

Wow, that sounds really unprofessional on the sellers part even if they had good feedback. Did you pay them using PayPal?

Hi, yes paid using PayPal, they have a company listed as the payee, company has a website etc, but no listed address that I can find. I asked him if the address he provided is for him or the company, he won't reply.

I would most certainly escalate it to ebay and let them resolve the matter fairly. The guy sounds like a bit of a chancer. Plus you always have PayPal to fall back on. The goods were damaged and you must be refunded. Take pictures of the damaged items as evidence too.

Thanks, eBay have already sided with me and asked him to refund, to get a refund I have to return the ds but he won't provide me with his name... I'm hoping someone will know if ebay will eventually provide me his name so I can complete return?

You should return to the Paypal details, nothing else. If thats a company, address to them.

As far as I know, you might be entitled to a refund even without returning the damaged items. Either way, don't return the items to the seller until ebay instructs you to (they should provide you with the sellers details), otherwise you might lose your buyer protection.

as mentioned, return it to the info on Paypal.
Also, forward his comments to Ebay
Make sure you send it registered and take pics of it in its current state and capture the serial number
