Not sure if this is allowed here. Unusual request to rent a TT bike for Charleville 2 Day. Will pay obviously for its weekend use.

    I ride a 56cm road bike, I'm 179cm.

Have campag 11 speed cassette on decent wheelset if disc unavailable. Can pick up as required anywhere in Dublin area and on way to Cork !

Pick up Friday1st September returned Sunday 3rd

    €120 plus collateral and references

are you looking for a 56 or a 54 TT bike?

the TT is an individual TT yeah? i.e. little risk of crashes?

6 km pan flat TT heading from kilmallock back to charleville. unless there's a 100 mph cross wind it cannot be crashed. i'm racing bikes since I was 8. no offence to A4s but i'm not one.

i'd imagine 54 would do too but presumably as i'm a 56 in a road bike then a 56 would be best. maybe you can advise?

I have one I can possibly lend you. I'm not 100% on sizing though. What TT measurement would you like ideally?

This with a 56cm top tube? Dura Ace cranks but set up for ten speed? I don't have wheels to go with it tbh, plus I'm 6' 1"

a lot of folk go a size smaller in a TT bike. i ride a 57/58 road bike and a 56 TT

    Here is what i have

56 Cannondale slice, FFWD rear disc, all 10 speed. deep rim front available as well. bike is currently not uci legal but can be made so by switching around the seatpost. not a big deal. P2M power meter as well

the bike would probably fit. i'm not 100% sure about renting it out, need to give it a bit more thought

one concern, i'm taller than you, making it uci legal moves the seat back, you'll be more stretched out, it may be too big

re measured myself and i'm just 6 foot. not sure where i got 179

thank you both for your offers.

Harry - do you not use a powermeter - i ride a p2max myself - i think sizing would be fine. If the wheels aren't available I might have someone in the club. are you in dublin

Mossy - I wouldn't blame the indecision! your set up on the bike looks less aero, more suited to tri? you're in clare (? ) how would i get the bike?

    again thanks.

No. I got the bike earlier in the year, did the Nenagh TTT and one in Foyle Three Day and then decided to hang up wheels til IVCA next year... Maybe. I can't afford PM stuff so all is going in bin and I'll just wing it.

I borrowed wheels for when I used it.

    I am in Dublin

You need to clear some messages for space Harry. It won't accept mine.

my position doesn't really matter, it would be yours that counts!! anyway, don't reads too much into that pic, i always thought the same, not sure what angle the photographer took it from but i look a lot higher on it than i am, plus that was for 180km, i've dropped it back a lot since given i was only doing 20/40km races again. putting the seat back to make it uci legal would lengthen you out anyway

i presumed you;d be coming down the m7 and through limerick, i'm 10 minutes from the motorway exit at birdhill. anyway, not to worry, looks like you are sorted

Thank you. My turnaround time to possibly adjust positions wold be tight. In fairness to Harry I can test it beforehand up here.

Sorry for busting in, but though I tend not to like the look of TT bikes, that Ritte is lovely

Waited a number of years to nab it off previous owner. Hope to get it set up net year and do IVCA TT on it. Maybe the odd triathlon... Shock!

It is absolutely gorgeous alright. Love those Ritte colours.

IVCA TT's are great if you're into it but the waiting around is a right pain.

@OP. I think I'm going to sell my TT bike. It might interest you for a couple of weekends rental at your rates :) . Basic carbon Planet X. Previous owner was / is a national champ so the bike didn't hold him back! I bought it 2 years ago and stuck it on the turbo for a winter to dial myself into the position, did 2 or 3 ivca TT's and then it went back on the turbo. But i need to make some space now and I'm not going TTing again.

my weekend rate, lol ! i am hoping that the bike will pay for itself over that weekend. even for the psychological kick of feeling faster, it's worth a few places. one of the lads is lending me his zipp front and rear disc so if nothing else I'll look the part :-)

it's last chance saloon to get the solitary point for the upgrade. i almost never do stage races in my 10 open races a year.

Doing a stage race is what convinced me to quit racing... You'll very much enjoy it. That's the problem, day races feel like a waste of time.
