Hi question for friend. Had the window replaced recently due to a chip and now the new window is after developing a 4-5 in long crack stemming from the lower passenger side corner. There is no chip or any sign of damage it appears to have developed from stress. Any idea as to whether the windscreen company have any liability for this or not?

I had the same thing happen to a rear screen that I had had replaced, went out one frosty morning a month after it was replaced and it was the worlds hardest jigsaw in my boot.
I asked the repairers and they denied anything being wrong, I used another glass company for the next one and had no problems after that.

Go back to the company that fitted it and insist on it being replaced again. Speak to the manager if necessary rather than just be fobbed off by the guy that fitted it.
