Leaks under the kitchen sink

    Hi,

I was clearing out under the sink as a man is coming to install a water softener tomorrow and I found 2 leaks.

First one below. This is feeding the cold tap and coming off the mains I guess.

Second one (on the left). This is feeding the hot tap.

I have some questions about these and was hoping that someone on the DIY forum could help me out once again.

    - Are these valves which are broken and need replacing? I tried to tighten them but there is still a leak.
    - Do I need to replace them before the water softener man comes tomorrow?
    - By any chance, will the water softener man be replacing them anyway?

    Thanks!
    Adrian

Moved to plumbing and heating at OP's request.

I would say that the water softener guy will defo be altering some of your connections anyway. I'd say he would have no problem sorting it at the same time.

Turns out it was the mains valve and one of the kitchen taps leaking. Mains fixed, kitchen tap not. Not too bad.
