Anyone know where I could buy Rat-proof wire-mesh to seal a wooden compost container. Last time I turned the compost, a rat jumped out of it , and I don't like the things. I live in Co. Galway, but will travel to buy it. I put only vegetables/tea-bags, etc. in it - no cooked food or meat, but it seems the heat the compost…

I live in Co. Galway, but will travel to buy it.

I put only vegetables/tea-bags, etc. in it - no cooked food or meat, but it seems the heat the compost generates attracts rats.

This might do it.

8mm thick is approx. "20G" (20 gauge). I'd imagine that'd be enough if they're just using it for shelter.

Ask any local agricultural provider, such as Arrabawn in Athenry. These folks sell mesh
