Hi Boards,

anyone have any idea where can I find a g4560 for a good price? They were about £50 a few weeks ago but now the cheapest I can find is £72?

I'm afraid the demand has caught up with supply for the G4560, hence why it's above RRP right now.

Short of a miracle I don't think you'll see them below 70 in the near future.

That said while I was a big fan of the G4560 as opposed to the Ryzen 1400 in terms of value for money, the 1200 is ridiculous and unless you're on a real microbudget I would recommend it at £100/€110 - https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/TX4NnQ/amd-ryzen-3-1300x-35ghz-quad-core-processor-yd1200bbaebox - overclocked it has about identical performance to an £175 i5 7400: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVndJLtNZGE

Just a heads up, but as best I know the G4400 struggles quite a bit on a good few titles.

The G4400 is a good casual desktop processor but it's a lot slower than the G4560 and for many of the latest games, forget it - would be totally unplayable.

Ryzen 3 1200 is a good alternative, bit more expensive but worth it. Or else get a 2nd hand Haswell i3 on Ebay for about €60, which would be very similar to the G4560, a bit faster.
