VAG component protection

    Im looking to replace the climatronic facia in my 2010 A6.
    I know that its a part that uses component protection and that without removing said protection only certain vital functions like windscreen clearing will work.

    My questions are:
    Does anybody know anywhere that has the software to do this...VCDS cant do it but Im aware off diagnostic software called ABRITES/ AVDI that can perform this function.

    Has anybody gotten this done buy Audi and if so how much did it cost.

    Are you certain that the C6 A6 uses component protection?

    I thought the C7 A6 was the first A6 (and the B8 A4 the first Audi) to use it. I could well be wrong though.

    Im not 100% on it but its my understanding that it was introduced in the 2003+ A8 and then the 2005+ A6 moving onto the 2008 + A4.
    Again I could be wrong theres differing information floating about the web.
