He's usually one to eat socks and knickers ( they either come out or he has an op, 4 ops so far) but now he's managed to eat a tub (500 grams) of margarine. I presume all I need to be weary about are explosive runs and vomiting? he's a 45 KG Malamute....

We had a foster that ate a large tub of butter, the vet laughed it off but the diarrhoea was horrific, the poor lad didn't have time to get out to the garden but it lasted less than a day and he didn't seem over bothered by it.

The poo should be epic, but he should be grand, just keep an eye out for any other signs of him being off.

btw ...don't try wiping a long haired dog with violent diarrhea :D

Get the scissors in now, before it is too late :pac:

Bread might be a better option for cleaning it up? ;)

You really do have to admire him. He is definitely one of a kind.

My fella has eaten a stick of butter, well half of one, it did give him the runs a bit.
Strangely that and bread seem to be the worst for his belly of all the things he's eaten, including packets of dry fajita mix, jar of homemade chilli sauce (very hot), madras curry from the bin as it was too hot for us to eat, sardines or mackerel filets from tin (which he neatly opens) and a half can of cat food, can included. How he's not dead I don't know, he's not starved by the way.

I second the scissors suggestion, or hope you have a garden hose and rubber gloves!

Our whippet ate a whole slab of butter that he robbed from the kitchen counter.

The poor lad had explosive diahrea for for a few hours and looked about as miserable as a dog could be bit no long term issues.

Funnily enough he did actually learn his lesson as butter is the only thing he won't steal any more. If he even sees anyone spreading butter he runs under the table and sits with his tail firmly clamped between his legs.
