Hi all, just looking for any advice or recommendations..

Looking to buy a laptop for work (school) so I'd be using powerpoint, ActivInspire, Office etc. Currently have an Acer Aspire 5738g, Windows 7, 3gb ram, it's on its last legs though, battery goosed, CPU consistently running near 100%, overheating etc. All fair enough, I've had it 6 years!

I'm thinking I want something between 13 and 15", as user friendly as the Acer, at least 4gb RAM (I was thinking 8GB, but this one only had 3 and is only slow last 2 years or so. Would 8 be a huge difference). Battery isn't a huge issue, I'd like to be able to use it 2, 3 hours without a cable but not the biggest need. Anything over 500gb storage will do me. No real need for tablet/touchscreen functionality.

I've ruled out MacBooks (cost), Chromebooks (system), Lenovo makes (bad experience). Between another Acer (http://www.currys.ie/Product/acer-aspire-e5523904b-156-laptop-black/342285/401.0.10), a Dell Inspiron - never used a Dell (http://www.currys.ie/Product/dell-inspiron-15-5000-15-laptop-midnight-blue/341064/401.0.10), and an Asus (https://www.powercity.ie/?par=10-30-628711). (edit - did have a deal with that asus and office and panda security for 530 which seems reasonable - ex display though).

Budget is about 600, will be buying an Office subscription too so don't wanna go far over. So any advice based on them or left field suggestions?
