    Hi Folks

I need some advice. Im in the process of building a new house and irish water has reared its ugly head. During the process of the build we unearthed a mains water pipe feeding another building (NOT MINE).

We applied ot IW and they came back with a fee of 3500 euro. 400 of this is for 5 meters of pipe and labour and 3100 is infrastructure fees.. IV gotten advice of mulltiple people withing the building industry and they say just to connect to the pipe at my front door dont bother with them.... there is good pressure and it is the pipe they will be tapping anyways .... Should i or shouldnt i? I dont want to get sued if thats possible down the line ...

You might be better posting this in Construction and Planning, Where quite a few Architects offer advice.
