Advice for a Learner Driver

Hi. I'm new to boards. I'm on my third provisional but to get it I had to book a driving test which should ideally take place in December.

The thing is despite taking lessons over the years, starting and stopping for different reasons, I am in no way a competent driver. I keep promising myself on each provisional that this time I'll practice, this time I'll go for the test.

I'm really nervous. I am insured on my mothers car but she lives in a different county. I have to travel down to practice which is a right pain. I have to get a time that suits her if I want to practice legally. I am also limited on time. I have all 12 EDT lessons done.

Does anyone have any advice or has anyone ever been in a similar situation? I put so much money into driving lessons over the years. I don't want to just drop it. I can't afford my own car because insurance prices are a joke. A lot of jobs I'll be going for in the future require a full licence. That's my main motivation.

Does anyone have any advice? Or tips?

    Hey,
I know someone in the same boat as you. They got their 12 edt lessons from a family friend (an instructor) and the instructor was very open and leveled with them...

    That being:
    - They didn't have enough experience to pass the driving test. They needed more lessons. No two ways about it. Since they had to book a test to get the third provisional (just like you) the only chance they have of passing is to get behind the wheel and drive more.

Sounds obvious but there isnt another way around it. If you can't afford more lessons maybe ask a friend to help give you lessons on some Road that's quiet.

Another tip is to book a pre-test lesson on the day of your driving test. Really helps so much.
