I am an almost 14 years old boy. Should i ask for ear piercing?

That says the title. I want an ear piercing on both of my lobes and i want to tell my parents if they want. My own regolations are to wear only small studs (maybe a bit biggers ones, but rounded) on my ears because i think everything else is bad to look at.

My intent is not really to look "cool" to others, i want them just for myself.
All my family (including my dad) has ear piercing but that doesn't matter much but it can be a valid reason to ask for them. I'm evalutating the consequences to imagine how i will look to people i know, and i think no one will have anything wrong with my ears pierced.

I'm terribly shy, so should i ask them to get me those piercings? I want them done with a gun, for a serie of reasons i don't want to enumerate and i know that it -may- infect.

Also, does the gun hurt? What sensation do you feel during/after the piercing process?

If your getting it done in a shop as far as i know you need your parents permission if your under 16.it didnt really hurt when i got it done maybe for a second or two after its been done.they usually give you a small bottle of disinfectant just put a few drops on the front and back of earing and turn the earing a few times that what i was told anyway

I forgot to say that I live in Italy and from what i know malls don't do piercings. I've seen a few girls in my class who got the piercings done with a gun. I'll try to ask them where have they done that before doing a huge, boring research.
