Certificate of tax residence

Hi, I need a certificate of tax residence for the 5 years I worked in Ireland. I asked the Revenue and got this reply: "Please note, Revenue do not produce certificates of residence. I can confirm that according to our records, you were resident in Ireland from XXX and were also employed during this time"
This won't be good enough for the German tax authorities I'm afraid. I'm planning to move back to Germany and need to prove that I was employed and paying taxes in Ireland.

Where can I get any official confirmation?

Thanks in advance,

Anna

Ask for a balancing statement(?) for each year.

Have you got your P60s for the past 5 years?

They show that you were employed in Ireland and also show the number of weeks of insurable employment in each year.

The letter you received from Revenue should suffice. It is after all an official document and it is all they will issue to you. As previously mentioned, your P60s should also be submitted to your local tax authority.

Revenue don't do certificates of residency. What they've given you is all they can, and should be sufficient

I've got the balancing statements - P21. I wonder if that magic U1 form might be more helpful. It's apparently worth gold if you are moving to a different European country. Has anyone got that one? It states the amounts of your contributions in the last country you lived in.
