Bluetooth in VW Golf mk6

Bought a 2010 VW golf which has a rcd310 radio. It also has a parrot (that doesn't support A2DP) My question is can I use Bluetooth audio on the rcd310 or is the Bluetooth module in use with the parrot? I enabled bt audio on the radio but couldn't find it when I searched on my phone. Maybe I just wasn't quick enough or am I wasting my time?

Wasting your time I think. There's a separate bluetooth module that lives under the drivers seat, they turn up on ebay occasionally.

Was hoping that wasn't the case but I can probably live with it for a while anyway. May upgrade the radio down the line. Thanks again for the reply.

I upgraded my radio to a bolero but still no Bluetooth because that external vw module is needed. If you have an aux input you can get a kinivo on Amazon they accept and receive phone calls and allow you to play music from your phone. I have one and the quality is brilliant.

Yeah the less cables the better really though, I have a Parrot built in so if I was to use the kinivo the parrot would be obsolete. Another thing I am not sure of is if I was to get some Bluetooth music device would I be able to connect my phone to both at the same time?

No I don't think the kinivo can pair to two things at once and the parrot certainly can't, unless you got a music device and used the aux cable and kept the parrot for phone calls only.

Think I will be on the lookout for a second hand anycar Bluetooth box. Could plug that into the cd changer port on the radio. I just wonder would I be able to use it and the parrot at once, playing Bluetooth music to the radio would the parrot kick in and silence the radio. Would my phone connect to the two at once?

I'd ditch the parrot tbh, they're ugly looking and practically useless by today's standards. Go for either the Bluetooth box or the kinivo.

I'll have to think about it I guess. I like the parrot and would be a pain to have to remove.

If I was to get one of these would I be able to use this in the rcd310 and keep the parrot and have both connected to my phone simultaneously?

Does the above bluetooth module do a simiar job to the oem one?

Tbh I couldn't see a Bluetooth module from Ali express being a patch on an OEM part. Maybe I'm wrong but I never heard of a phone that can connect to two devices simultaneously. Another solution would be to upgrade the parrot to a version that streams music. The newer ones look much better on the dash.

Yeah I think that is the only practical solution, all other options either may not work as well or have cables going all over the place which I would prefer not to have. To be honest I don't mind the look of the ck3100 but I'll look into replacing it with one that supports music streaming also. Am I right in saying that parrots do not make use of all speakers in the car though? This would be something i'd like to know before upgrading.

IF the parrot is installed correctly it should use all speakers. I had the 3100 in a 2007 Octavia the installer made a complete bolllox of the install managing to break the end off the aerial cable which he had to replace. He couldn't get the radio to sit properly in the dash with the proper parrot connection plugged into the radio. I ended up with a single speaker hidden in the centre console, it worked but it was cack tbh.
