I have concrete fence posts and would like to paint them.

Anything I need to do in particular?

Do I need a primer and special paint or can I just use normal fence paint?

Rustoleum do a Universal paint which is a primer and paint in one. It can be used on anything but it is expensive, @ 25 euro for 750ml.

I just painted them while painting the fence. It was only at start of summer but still looking good.

Stabilizing primer. Next day, 2 coats of dulux weathershield. Sorted.

Get a Pliolite paint first to stick to the smooth precast posts. You can get it tinted to a similar colour of your finished paint, 2 coats of Dulux Weathershield after that and job is oxo!

You can get a product called E-B which will make any water based paint stick like glue to any surface. The stuff, imo, is the dog's bo***x

I painted my fence posts lost summer so over a year now. I just used the fence paint the Aldi do and its still good. Thought I would be painting them again this year but no need. Maybe next summer I will paint them again. I painted each one twice.

    Peace and long life.
