Hi, just a bit of advice if anyone can help?
We've taken out an open fireplace and opened up the old inglenook so we can put in a wood burning stove. Everything's gone to plan so far except now that we've swept out the old chimney it's quite a big oval shaped flue, at least 10" in diameter. The biggest clay flue adaptor I can find is 8". Anyone have any idea how we can get around this safely? Thanks....

Best advice I can give is not to you a clay flue adapter. Line the chimney with a suitable flexible liner and do the job properly. Honestly unless you want to do a lot more chimney sweeping than most people are up for then a chimney adaptor will only cause you trouble.

Flue liner needed or you will have potentialy problems with draft.
    Simple solution with small costs.

+ fit a carbon monoxide alarm, it's the law, if you want to follow it.
