Pc turns on but no display, Help please

    I'm after upgrading my pc it turns on but there is no display I upgraded the cpu motherboard and ram and it turns on but there is no display on the monitors I upgraded to a Ryzen 5 1600 and a msi b350 tomahawk I put back in my old parts and it boots up fine I'm using an r9 290 and an evga 600b power supply

    Any ideas?

    Are you sure the graphics card is compatible? What version is your pci-e slot? If it's version 1.0 and your card is say 2.1 then it won't work. Not all Pci-e cards are backwards compatible and some are.

    Sometimes the RAM will turn on, but will cause the system to immediately crash. Try it with one dimm at a time.

    @AllForIt my mother board is fairly new (msi b350 tomahawk) so i dont think the pcie slots are the problem , the pcie slots are pcie 3.0

    @tedpan i only have 1 stick of ram and thats new so i dont think its broken
