Hi, was down on the east Cork coastline yesterday and came across some birds I'm not familiar with. They were slightly bigger than a sparrow and had white heads with brown plumage. Can't seem to locate a photo of them online. Any help appreciated?

    In what habitat?

Actually some birds are moulting now what can be misleading when it comes to id them.

I'm going to guess summer-plumaged Turnstones!

Were these birds down on the shoreline? Or up in trees? Tell us about their behaviour/numbers etc and it'll help us ID them!

They were on pier / jetty wall covered with a hedge feeding just off the shoreline leading up to a road. Just looked up turnstone and that's it alright. Thanks a lot. Lovely distinct looking bird.
