Seems too good to be true. Probably is. Seller is just launched, shipping from the states. I wouldn't trust it, even if it is easy to get your money back from Amazon.

    €10 isn't much of a punt :)

Seller (Samantha Saul) has none feedback .
Everything in the store is priced 7.99 or 8.99

    Ridicules example:
Dewalt LED with 4Ah battery for 8.99 come on

I bought one of those too, my day just keeps getting better. Whoop!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,961 ✭✭✭✭Discodog

Could be funny when they notice all the orders. The postage on the Dewalt would be more than the torch.

Is it not just the gift box itself you're buying ? As in an empty box.

Part number is listed & it's correct LED8415X

Says 2 left on the page when this thread went up and still says 2 left after a load of you have bought it. This is dodgy as hell. I bought it and then saw sense and cancelled it straight away. I know it is only a tenner but I have no use for it anyway :pac:

I just bought a 179 piece socket set + free led torch for €10.34.
Money hasn't come out of my account though.
I normally get a notification on my phone from N26 Bank.

My CC payment for the OP has gone through

I have one, paid 25euro a few years back. It's decent, thought it would be larger and brighter. Not bad, but eats batteries

Genuine question, I don't use Amazon a lot. What are the possible outcomes here?

    - You get the torch for €10.
    - Nothing arrives, and the cash comes out of your account. - Does this happen?
    - Something completely different arrives? - I assume the seller pays the return for inaccurately described product. If you can find the seller :)

    Hassle for the last two!

Yes you can get something for a 10yh of the price. Let's be realistic, its a complete waste of time ordering it.

Feck the LED torch.... that DeWalt is mental money. There is not a hope that's genuine

There are guides for spotting fakes online, and the lensers are faked, so you might find a guide for this model.

I got a 2xAA torch in aldi a while ago, a few others I know got them too and all happy with them. It was also 10euro and think it was 160lumens, which is possibly going to be brighter than a fake 450.

and as its a plug in charger its a definite fire risk -if something does actually arrive.

The "con" could be that they send a cheap chinese torch & offer a full refund of you return it. But the return postage to the USA would be too high.

Still says 2 available despite you guys ordering, so no point in me orderings :)

If loads of people buy these from Ireland, UK and other countries, then the seller will be quids in with a bucket load of sales.
Not worth the future hassle for €10 imo.

    Cancelled mine. Obvious scam

Ordered from a similar seller before, everything priced 4.99. I was only getting a phone case, so it didn't seem so bad, but the phone case I got was much more expensive everywhere else, looking at the sellers profile, I saw everything was 4.99, but it wasn't high priced stuff like projectors like the above :D

The case never came and I got a refund.

I'm not sure if the seller actually gets the money and then Amazon are left out of pocket or what way it works...

I'm sure Amazon are never out of pocket. Sounds like a Chinese seller with a fat finger. Either that or they are Chinese copies which LED Lenser have flagged before on Ebay

If I was to take a guess, I'd reckon someone's got a bit of beef with Amazon.

Set up a fake account and sell loads of non existent items for unbeatable prices.
Amazon then has the hassle of refunding everyone and dealing with some irate customers that demand their item and some even threaten never to use Amazon again and will advise their family and friends not to either.

A call to Joe Duffy and a Facebook campaign with around 25 likes will ensue which will rattle Amazon to the Core.
However Amazon will cling on and see out the Shītstorm to the very end.

Eventually people's lives will return to normal and some will even raise a chuckle thinking about what nearly was!
