Any word on who is on the full list of applicants? When will a decision be made public on who is rewarded the licences?

No list of submissions published so far which is surprising but I'm sure all will be revealed soon!

These submissions are only expressions of interest in licences. The BAI use these, and their own research to decide what, if any, licences will be advertised in the next year or two.

The licencing strategy (BSS) is due to be published in early 2018 as far as I know.

Never read such a load of sh1t....

Mr Branigan said that" if no new licences were issued there would be fewer stations per capita than in 2005, “just at a time when radio needs to innovate and bring more diverse choice to fight against other media such as digital”

    Hells bells...........

Branigan never mentions how he already has a semi national station (4fm)

Statement is spot on - the continuing fall in radio listenership backs this point

Just because you seem to have a vendetta against Branigan and Nova, it doesn't make him wrong.

ah here. he has no vendetta against branigan and nova. he just disagrees with the statement made by branigan. if i disagree with someone's statement does that mean i have a vendetta against them? of course not.

I'm very highly educated. I know words, i have the best words, nobody has better words then me.

My comment wasn't based off that one post alone.

well i have read nearly all his posts on this forum in relation to radio nova and apart from genuine criticisms of the station shared by some there is nothing that can constitute a vendetta.

    vendetta
    vɛnˈdɛtə/Submit
    noun
a blood feud in which the family of a murdered person seeks vengeance on the murderer or the murderer's family.

    He could be right tho...;)

A lot of narrowminded (read:looking for a row) posters think I hate Nova..I don't..I dont like the way it's run,the music policy, and the (some) juvenile dj,s who as a 53yo male music enthusiast finds offensive and insulting....

Best of luck Simon. It would be a great addition.

Just promise us you won't have a "wacky duo" on the breakfast show like every other station.

That's only because you agree with his lunacy. Thread completely derailed by nasty and spiteful stupidity.

    You know I'm right....;)

Guys please stick to discussing the applications for new licences. The next step will involve cards. No need for personal digs on a lovely Friday evening.

Nothing so far! Just from educated speculation aside from 8Radio.com and Nova, you can expect there to be a number of quite high profile Country music applicants, at least one religious output and a couple of other local stations looking to extend their range. The last few are a mystery though...
