Hi , I passed a white speed van on the opposite side of the road twice today . Both roads were 100km and I was doing around 103/104 km . Would I be fined for this ? Or is there a certain allowance on speed vans

    Thanks

If you were doing an indicated 104, you were probably actually going at 97/98ish, speedos tend to overread a little. And there is usually a little leeway with the cameras too.

As above, I wouldn't worry about it. If you were over the allowed limit you would have seen the flash (to the best of my knowledge).

I thought they did? (They certainly do in the UK.)

I didn't see any flash and I know in ireland they don't always flash cause of infared or something . A guard told a friend that there's a small allowance away cause spedometers aren't 100% accurate on cars .

I have been told by a Speed van employee they allow 9km/h above the limit in all zones (50/80/100).

Also there is no flash (a flash big enough to light up a road would blind everyone :D)
