    Hi

am planning on driving to Dublin on Sunday for the hurling match in Croke park. Driving up from Galway

Am staying the night in Dublin city (Georges street)

I had thought I might drive up on Sunday morning, arrive in Dublin at about Midday, park car at Heuston and get Luas in to city etc. (to avoid city traffic and all that)

But then im thinking, I could just drive on a bit further and park in the city.

Are there any relatively cheap places to park in around the city from Sunday at midday to Monday (bank holiday) at about midday also?

Parking in the city will be free on bank holiday Monday but the Sunday will still be €2.90 per hour in the yellow zone which covers all of the city centre. There may be some side streets that are pay and display Mon-Sat only but you might be driving around for a while looking for one that has free slots.

The south quays (Burgh & Aston) either side of O'Connell bridge will be closed for Luas roadworks so there will be lots of diversions that will cause confusion and/or chaos. If I was you, I'd dump the car in Heuston and get the Luas.

Thank you, thanks for the heads up about the Luas works.

might be a good idea to stay away from the city in a car then .

If your hotel is in Sth. Georges St., ask them if they have an arrangement with any of the local car parks, there may be a deal for Sunday parking. There is a very big multistory car park in Drury St. which is nearby.

    it is indeed.

just wondering, coming from Galway, what would be the best route to get here, up along quays and take right and up by Dublin castle maybe
