We are thinking about going to Rome in October. Our Kids are 11 and 8.

Looking at Flights. There is approx €600 in total
in the difference between Aer Lingus to Fiumicino and Ryanair to Ciampino.

Usually fly Aer Lingus esp with the Kids. Have flown Ryanair before and it's been hit and miss.

What is Ciampino Airport like ? Also Ryanair with Kids recently ?

    Thanks in advance.

Pay for your seats together and go with Ryanair. Completely daft paying that much extra ti fly AerLingus. There is a regular bus into Rome, cheap and reliable.

Fly regularly enough with kids on both and to be honest there really isn't much of a difference. Certainly nowhere near enough of a difference to justify that sort of price difference!

They're both just economy class flights; don't know why having kids matters as long as you pay for seat selection at booking (only €2 per seat per leg if you pick seats near the back) so you don't get split up.

I've priority boarding, fast-track & lounge access with EI, but there's no way on earth I'd pay that sort of premium for the ever-diminishing difference in the quality of service between the two airlines. Put your €600 to far better use elsewhere.

Flew into Ciampino last month with kids. It's a relatively small airport, car rental pick up & return is a doddle. Just be sure to book seats if flying with FR, otherwise you'll likely be separated (a real retrograde move by FR, just when they were doing so well).

Ciampino is a doodle! Where both FR and EI fly to the same city, I often fly with one, and back with another, generally find coming back with EI a better choice re baggage allowances and flexibility! But it is price dependent!

when booking with kids with Ryanair there is no way round not choosing seats and paying for them since last September

just for info, if you can only book flights 330 days in advance, it means since 10 days ago all families are travelling with seats allocated at time of booking.

Would love to go back to Greece on holidays, hav'nt been back since kids arrived. Have you found somewhere nice/suitable to go with kids? Did our first foreign holiday with the kids this year and went to a camp in France, had a lovely time but would like something different next year.
