    Harder to terminate shielded cable, plus it will be stiffer and slightly thicker than unshielded.

    Just to add another question that may be relevant.
    If buying cat 6 which do I want? Which is best to future proof?
    Sheilded cat 6 or cat 6a? Or is just standard unsheilded cat 6 good enough? Can some cat 6 be used as a HDMI cable? Which one?

    Shielded cable is required only in a very electrical noisy environment. It is a lot more expensive.

    To be effective you also need to use the special shielded rj45s and have the devices either end earthed.
