Disability and companion travel

Just received confirmation of Disability allowance, and today received my new card for free travel. It is free travel +S, which is spouse or co-habitant.

Thing is my husband never goes anywhere with me, and it would be much better for my daughter to accompany me. BUT I am able to travel alone sometimes, so how difficult would it be to have a companion added instead of spouse?

Do I have to be completely unable for lone travel?

Talk to them. It will depend on the basis on which you were granted the pass. If you need daughter for doctor, hospital, etc., explain that. Just because you like the same shops as your daughter and not the ones your husband likes might not be enough.
