Ikea kitchen fan noise

Hi, when I switch on my Ikea kitchen extractor fan above the stove it makes a very loud grinding noise. Almost as if there is a stone in the physical fan itself. It makes it practically inoperable because the longer I leave it switched on, the louder it gets and the more I feel like it's going to shake itself from the wall. So I switch it off after 10 seconds. For that 10 seconds I can feel the extraction of air is happening as expected.

Anyone know who I could call to come out and take a look?! I'm not even sure what type of tradesman it requires.. Do Ikea do repairs like this?

Check the model of your Ikea unit on the website to see if it's still under warranty. They tend to offer quite long warranties on most of their household appliances. If it is, contact their helpdesk to see what they recommend.

Hi - in case anyone ever stumbles across this post in the future. I contacted IKEA via Instant message on their Irish website (Customer Services), and I let them know the make and model and problem I was facing.

They gave me a product code and phone number for Whirlpool who would send someone out to take a look.

Also, in case of any issues, they said there was a 5 year warranty on the extractor fan so I'm still good!

    Thanks Sleepy for the response.
