had a look. first episode was only just scraping ok imo. flashing back in time from after the bomber was caught to before during the investigation. not sure why the Sam Worthington profiler agent is claiming to have caught him in the show. The guy's brother basically turned him in.

Any indication of this coming to UK/Ireland TV, I'd be interested in giving it a shot.

On Netflix right now, an 8 parter starring Sam Worthington, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Bobb, Chris Noth amongst others (Brían F. O'Byrne appears in a few episodes too). I found it very uneven insofar as it starts off strongly, but fades pretty quickly. Had a real TV-movie feel to it. Good performances from Bobb (in particular), Bettany, and Noth but what was most disappointing however
is the amount of poetic licence they brought to the story - staying true to the original version would likely have served this better
    . 5/10.

It was good but, as I said in the Netflix thread, there were too many cliched "Eureka!" moments, with Worthington running off when he figures something off.

It was ok I thought and you have to expect some poetic licence in these kind of things but I was surprised to learn
that Fitz and yer man never met so that whole bit about trying to convince him to plead guilty was all made up.

Watch the rest of it and you'll find out why.

I thought it was a decent enough show tbh. Shame to hear it diverged greatly from the actual story.

Enjoyed this, particularly Paul Bettany - wouldn't have recognised him only for the credits. In real life, Fitzgerald (FBI agent) was also a producer here. If I have a criticism, it's that the show relied on Fitzgerald having a eureka breakthrough moment perhaps too regularly (as noted above), even if he was a once a generation type of profiler. Did they contrast the Unabomber and Fitz - both highly intelligent, troubled, obsessive, etc. FBI itself was highly resistant to change, not sure how accurate this was. Institutions can be very much so.

Finished this today - well worth a watch in my opinion.

Yeah think I'm pretty much on the same page as everyone else here.

    Thought it was gripping
but too much poetic licence and in the second half becomes very tv-movieish

Thought the two leads were excellent

I'm 6 out of the 8 in and really enjoy it. I don't know anything really about the real story, so that probably helped.
I do agree about the amount of Eureka moments Worthington has. Too many. Still he's excellent.

Bit long winded, Worthinghton - truly unlikable character. Bettany smashed it.

The latest show to be turned into an anthology series.

Season two will be called Manhunt: Lone Wolf.
Manhunt: Lone Wolf, will chronicle one of the largest and most complex manhunts on U.S. soil — the search for the 1996 Atlanta Olympics Bomber, Eric Rudolph
