Renault Scenic central locking issue

    Hi all,

Having an issue with a 2011 Scenic.

My wife arrived home saying the doors were not locking, checked the fuse and it was blown.

I replaced the fuse and now they've locked but will not open. I can open and close the passenger door with the key and open the doors from the inside but the central locking will not open with the key card.

Any ideas on how to fix this, or am I looking at going to an auto electrician?

Is it attempting to open, or totally dead?

I have seen issues with these where something big has been put into the boot and puts pressure on the boot door. This can cause the central locking to freak out big time.

If you cant open the boot, there is a manual override from the inside. It is on the locking plate, covered by a small bit of white plastic. Push a flat head screwdriver through on the right side, and slide left.

If the central locking works with the boot open then all should be fine.

    Ken

Second key the same? Fuse does indicate its more than a key card problem, would be checking the current pull at the fuse as locks are activated, rule of thumb - should be no more than 1/3-1/2 of the fuse rating. Water ingress is high on the list of possible causes.
