We just got are planning permission granted last week, pretty much the entire house has a mono pitched specified. (Small percentage of flat)

    Anyone done one recently?

    Any noise issues?

Been looking at the euroclad product.

    Any recommendations?

    Thanks

AT Vapour barrier, cellulose between deep rafters (sized by structural eng for relevant eurocodes/ wind loads etc) with woodfibre board outside rafter ,breathable membrane and metal sheet support system, metal sheet

I have used a plywood or single skin metal deck with insulation on top and then a membrane like trocal or bauder. It's very expensive but when done correctly it's very high quality. Appropriate vapour control and edge + flashing details are vital.

The only issue is that this type of build up is normally used on a much larger scale so you may find it hard to get a good contractor interested and you most definitely need a good contractor!

Kingspan do a panel with the membrane pre applied as a sort of halfway house.

    thanks for the replies

was onto kingspan about their trapezoidal system they reckoned I would have noise issues on residential use with it.

I'm in two minds whether to reapply to amend the design for a flat roof probably in concrete (its suits the design better in my opinion) - insurance reasons put me off this in the first place.

Heard recently that one of the bigger companies treat a concrete roof as standard.

Another broker told me with the technology improvements a flat roof is not an issue these days...

And a local broker to me today that she reckoned would have a higher rate because of the mono pitched roof.... although she has to get back to me on this.

Actually specified in the design that the roof pitch would be 10 degrees.

Go the ins and outs of roof from an insurance body that said the following:

A flat roof is of a pitch up to 4 degrees

4 - 9.9 degrees has to go for referral

and 10+ degrees is considered a pitched roof

Roof is over 206 m2 (ground floor area) this includes the ground floor only flat roofed section.

Upstairs has a 175m2 floor area so mono pitched roof would be a tad more than this
