Does anyone know why my stainless steel sinks are always stained with water marks even though I have a water softner installed?

MOD NOTE: Just a post to let you know that you may not post the same question in multiple threads. I see you are new here, so an easy mistake to make.
Enjoy boards and I hope you get your answer.

btw as this is probably the most appropriate place for this question, I will leave it as it is.

Maybe its set up in such a way not to remove all the limescale?

I know on mine there is a setting for hardness of water. I never had this tested but the installer set it to a certain point.

I am assuming that if you, for example, set the hardness to 100ppm and its actually 300ppm then the system won't be filtering out all the lime?
