I have to be in the Mater in Eccles street for a minor procedure at 06.30 am in a few weeks. I was thinking of getting the LUAS up but does anyone know what time the first LUAS from Red Cow is at and would it leave me enough time to get to the Mater by 06.30? Thanks in advance...

First LUAS is scheduled to leave Tallaght at 05:30, Red Cow just after 05:40, and get to Abbey St for 06:10.

It's about a 15 minute walk from there to the Mater Private.

Per their website first Luas leaves Tallaght at 05:30

    https://www.luas.ie/operating-hours/

I would expect this to reach the Red Cow around 05:40 and it'd probably be another 25 mins at least to Abbey St and then you've to get to the Mater from there

Journey times here but its only calculated from certain points so you'll have to read between the lines

The first tram from Red Cow to the City leaves at 05:08 and the next is 05:28 which arrives at Abbey Street at 05:55. The 05:28 would be the ideal tram for you giving you ample time to get to the Mater.

Thanks. Previous posters said the first tram was 5.30 though, has it changed?

The first official tram is at 05:30 from Tallaght.

The earlier ones that start at Red Cow are not in the public timetable but are positioning journeys that unofficially operate in service.

No, it has operated like this for several years now, as I said the 05:28 is the ideal tram for you.
