Hi guys. So moved to a new insurance company and they asked me for details of any previous claims either at fault or not i had one no fault claim off the other persons insurance .sent them the doc confirming it was settled and they now keep coming back saying they need further proof.i literally sent them what I was given when the claim was settled but Axa are saying they need a doc called statement pf claims? I rang that persons insurance company and they were baffled as well....they're even said to me it's not on your policy....problem is they are now threatening to withdrawn the cover-is there anything i can do and do they have the right to be asking for all this when I have provided it?i asked them to call me back on it yesterday but they never did. Anyone any ideas?

Very odd. You wouldn't be entitled to information held on the 3rd party's policy, other than the correspondence you received when they settled your loss. Have they explained the reason why they want this? Probably time to talk to a supervisor

Sounds like you may be dealing with a nitwit who does not understand what they are doing

It should be more than enough for you to provide a statement of your claims history like the one that normally accompanies your statement of NCB from your last insurer. It should state something like 1 claim, the date of accident, a settlement cost of €0.00 and that the file is closed.

As far as the other person's insurers are concerned you can only send your new insurers a copy of whatever document they sent enclosing your settlement cheque or the like.

Take the initiative and contact them again. Get hold of a supervisor and ask if they want you to make a formal complaint to them and then the Financial Services Ombudsman.

That's exaxtly what I have done!! So just waiting in a call from them now-at least I know I'm not being unreasonable!!

AXA are a nightmare when it comes to this stuff. I switched to them recently. Severely regretted that choice in the few weeks after, for other reasons to do with documentation.

As above, the only evidence you'll be able to get here is a letter of claims experience from your old insurance company. This will specify the dates and types of any claims and the amounts they paid out (0). If request further docs make a complaint.

After sending two emails and putting a complaint through their website they have backed down and I'm getting my cert. Absolutely ridiculous stuff!! Logic is obviously not a prized commodity in the insurance industry!!! Thanks for the back up all.
