Second hand Leaf value going up?

Seems that the values of second hand Leafs have firmed up somewhat. Was speaking to the dealer in the U.K. that I purchased mine from for my sister and they are seeing a noticeable rise in demand - was wondering as they were looking for 500 quid more for one almost identical to mine. Seems people are waking up to their usefulness. I guess the glut of PCP cars are gone now too so that must also be a factor.

There was a good discussion on this topic here back in June. Leaf values shot down last year when a glut of UK cars came off finance. High supply and low demand depressed 2nd hand values for a while. But now that trend has started to reverse as demand is rising. I think we are seeing the start of the transition from early adopters to early majority. I think a lot of new entrants into EV ownership will buy 2nd hand cars and will initially use them as the family 2nd vehicle. This could see a further rise in 2nd hand values until buyers commit to buying new EV's.

Pretty much. Except we are still in innovator phase, which is defined as the first 2.5% by Rogers’ Diffusion of Innovations Theory (1962)

About 2 million private cars in Ireland and about 2.5k EVs, so we're only just gone over 1%!

Once there are over 320k EVs and under 1 million EVs, we are in early majority

    Rogers overview linky

Haha, didn't check my maths. Thought it was bad enough at 1%!
