Painful job, but the likes of Protim available in any proper builders providers will do the trick. Note builders providers, not DIY type place where it'll cost way more. You can buy it in 25l drums which you may need if there's a lot to treat.

Use one of those cheap garden sprayers with a lance to get it right into the tight spaces. Wear gloves, eye protection and a decent respirator.

Do it on a cooler day, on a hot day you don't want to spend too much time in an attic full of vapours.

For woodworm to live in wood it must be damp , moisture% of 18 plus, did the surveyor explain to you how come the wood is damp, how did he come to the conclusion that it is the start of the infestation.

    ?

If you mean how do you know you've eliminated the problem, you can only be sure after a couple of years where you see no signs of activity. Larvae spend 3-4 yeahs inside the wood before emerging releasing the tell tale signs of wood dust. If there are no fresh signs of dust after 4-5 years, you've won.

Be methodical in the application, ensure all exposed surfaces are treated, maybe even give them a second coat to be sure.
