Hi. Am looking at a second hand car. Low mileage......not many petrol around and people have said that the more modern petrol
cars are less prone to major problems, oe tje filter is easier to change.

Is this true or am I better off with a petrol for less than 10000 miles per year?

For less than 10k I would just get a petrol.

Curious as to why you'd consider a diesel if you're doing such low mileage?

Only because the petrol options in what I want are so limited

10,000 miles will be a lot cheaper in a diesel than a petrol. I was doing less and now doing a little more tha 10k miles and my next car will be diesel without doubt as the cost of even this mileage in a petrol is too much.

Petrol usually comes with only the spartan spec too.

It's not the amount of mileage you do per year that counts, it's the type of driving you do.
