Dishwasher door won't close

    Hi all
Long story short 6 year fell on dishwasher door the evening before we went on holidays over a month ago and it will no longer shut. Just getting around to it now !

It's an integrated InDesit di 620 . I had replaced the lock mechanism almost a year to the day this happened .

The door goes almost to the point of closing, clicks at the lock but does not engage.
The door itself has definitely been overextended as it does not sit exactly even anymore when left opened out . The left hand hinge (as I look) is squeaking and catching a little . I don't believe it did this before so I'm assuming the problem is with this hinge.

Given that's it's an integrated dishwasher it's going to be a bit of hassle getting it out to access the hinges so I may end up calling someone out :(

Is there anything I can try myself first ?

place the handle of a brush across the door above the hinges and bring the door towards closed position, when the handle is preventing the door from closing any further push on the door and you will bring the hinges back to their original pitch, I have done this many times where the same thing has happened with perfect results

    IT WORKED!

I will run it later without any dishes to see if it's sealed properly

    Thanks a million

Went through the cycle BUT it vented steam out one side a couple of times
I can't say I've ever noticed this happen before and don't want to risk ruining the counter tops .........
    I assume it's not sealing properly ?

Check that none of the screws that hold the press door to the dishwasher haven't unscrewed themselves preventing the door from closing.

Should be near the bottom, on the sides, facing up when dishwasher door is open and flat.
