No, you send it back and they give you a new one when they're gone.

They charge now though for a replacement. Easytrip do, not sure if eflow do

Last time I changed mine with eFlow they didn't anyway, but it was admittedly a few years ago. Batteries last (almost) forever!

Easytrip only charge if you have a purchased tag. If you need a replacement and you pay the €1 per month then it's free. They have another option where you buy the tag for €25 and then it's €0.50c per month, and if you need another tag you have to pay the €25 again.

I'm with Easytrip, last time the battery in the tag died, I called into the office in the Eastlink toll building and they gave me a new one. There is a centre island with room for a couple of cars on the Dublin Bay side of the building so coming from the northside, drive through the toll in the righthand lane and then pull up to the right onto the island or from the southside, get in the right lane as you approach the tolls and pull over onto the island before you reach the toll booths. The door is usually locked, press the buzzer, them what you're about and they'll let you in.
