    Hello,

Which route is faster from Dublin to Cavan, the 30 (to Donegal which stops in Cavan) or the dedicated 109 to Cavan?

Well, going the other way, from Cavan to Dublin, the 30 to the airport certainly gets you into Bus Aras 15 minutes quicker than the 109.

Only goes every 2nd hour though.

    Hello,

Which route is faster from Dublin to Cavan, the 30 (to Donegal which stops in Cavan) or the dedicated 109 to Cavan?

When leaving Dublin, I would say that the number 30 Donegal bus services get to Cavan quicker, more often than the 109, because most of the 109 Dublin services - including the 109 services from Bus Aras to Cavan, go out towards Phibsborough, Blanchardstown, and then Navan and Kells.

There are a number of 109 services from Dublin to Cavan during the day that do not stop at Dunshaughlin. Many of the evening 109 services, from Dublin to Cavan, stop at Dunshaughlin.

The 4.30pm and 5.30pm number 109 services, from Bus Aras to Cavan, go out the M3, and are scheduled to stop at Kells at 5.45pm and 6.45pm respectively, but do not stop at Navan or Dunshaughlin.

The number 30 Donegal bus that leaves Bus Aras at midnight every night covers Navan and Kells, but the other number 30 buses from Dublin, during the day, do not stop at Navan and Kells.

All the other number 30 bus services from Dublin have Virginia as the first stop after Dublin Airport.

The 1am number 30 service, from Donegal to Dublin, also covers Kells and Navan. All the other number 30 bus services from Donegal, going to Dublin, have Dublin Airport, as the next stop, after Virginia.

If the number 30 bus you intend to get from Dublin is almost full at Bus Aras, with passengers going beyond Cavan, you might be asked to use the 109 service instead, because the Donegal bus stops at the airport, after leaving Bus Aras, and will likely have more passengers waiting at the airport.
