Tilt and turn window - all tilt, no turn

We've a few tilt and turn windows in our new house (2nd hand), and while most both tilt and turn, our bedroom window will only tilt. I've tried to see what's blocking it (it's not stiff, it's as though one (or more) latch is hitting off something) but I cannot figure it out. The handle will only turn as far as the 3 o'clock position to allow for tilting, but cannot go any further to the 12 o'clock position to open.

Any idea if there is some safety mechanism for these to stop upstairs ones being opened, and how i'd remove it (or enable it on the other upstairs room which does open fully). It'd be fierce handy for cleaning windows, but equally, i'd like to be able to stop the 2nd window from tilting for safety reasons.

    Thanks

Not the most patient poster are we?

    So, no make, no pics?
You do need to resolve it for fire escape reasons.
Have you tried WD 40 or similar, on all the moving parts: I know its not stiff but it can;t hurt

Might be stating the obvious but the tilt/turn windows in my house have the key locks on the handles.
Has 3 positions: vertical- handle locked, horizontal (turn key 90 degree ) -handle goes to 3 o'clock and tilt only, vertical (turn key 180 degrees )handle will go 3 o'clock or 12 o'clock and tilt or open wide.
Key removable in all 3 positions.

Perhaps the previous owner left the window locked in tilt only position

    Nope :pac:

No idea about the make, tbh it never crossed my mind. I'll have a look this evening. I could take a pic, but of what? The window? The handle? The side mechanisms? Serious question though, I'll take pics of whatever part of the window would help ye help me.
I need to resolve it for safety reasons at least. The windows are low down, so the 2nd bedroom (which the window opens fully) is a hazard for any small ones, or drunk big ones.
I WD40'd the b'jesus out of it last night. Makes less squeeks now, but not budging past that 90 degree point.

Cool. Never knew this. They have key locks on them, but I doubt there's a key (i've certainly not seen one). I'll try find the make of window and see if a replacement key can be found.

Only code I can see is in the side of the window. ffh 1461 1920 .
    Siegenia brand maybe?

    Can't find a key either

Is this the key you have?

    Anybody?

M.T.D, what does your key look like?

The keys are usually fairly basic a simple + shape or like a car door key but with only one or two bumps.
They either restrict opening, as in your case, or if you have the window nearly shut on latch, stops someone outside tapping the sliders to open the window. So are not really that secure.
Ask a neighbour if you can borrow one of their keys, you might have to try a couple of neighbours to get the right type.
The locks are fairly easy to pick.
I am fairly sure I have seen the keys in little packs in hardware stores, Woodies or B&Q etc.
